In two hours you'll learn to size, lay, test and program a Hotwire under tile heating system properly — for everything from an ensuite to a whole open-plan living area — and walk out ready to offer floor heating as a paid service on your next job. Every renovation is a chance to quote floor heating — and it's no longer just bathrooms. Homeowners want floor heating in kitchens, laundries and open-plan living areas too, because a properly sized system heats the whole room, not just the floor. Most sparkies either pass those jobs up or try to work it out on site. Floor heating is a genuinely straightforward install when you've been shown how. This session will show you how to quote floor heating with confidence — from a small ensuite to a full living zone.
Two hours, hands-on, no fluff
Laying the element.
Hands-on at the bench: laying out mat and cable correctly, working around fixtures, covering larger floor areas efficiently, and what tilers and screeders need from you before they cover it.
Testing and test records.
The resistance and insulation tests to run before, during and after install — and why the test record matters for the lifetime element warranty (conditions apply).
Thermostat connection and programming.
Wiring the touchscreen thermostat, connecting floor sensors, and setting the program so the customer gets even, comfortable warmth without surprises on their power bill.

This session is the first stage of the Hotwire Training Academy pathway. Complete it and you can start offering Hotwire installation through your business straight away — an entirely new income stream, backed by our technical support team whenever you need us. Stage two is our Fault Finding Training, a full-day session where you learn to diagnose and repair systems professionally. Complete both and you're on the path to registered Hotwire installer.
